On 1 September 2023, 50 legislators from 25 countries are meeting in Prague for a general Summit of IPAC.

The group, which includes three new member countries, is meeting in the Czech Chamber of Deputies and Senate for a packed two days of events.

The core focus of the Summit will be policy workshops around six thematic areas related to China: Taiwan, renewable dependency, transnational repression, Hong Kong, Belt and Road, and human rights. The legislators aim to agree policy papers on each of these subjects, and develop associated campaigns for the year ahead.

The summit also features input from some of the world’s leading experts, the Czech Foreign Minister and President of the Chamber of Deputies, and features receptions hosted by the International Legal Team of Jimmy Lai, the Czech Senate, and a lunch attended by Central European civil society organisations.
